Avian influenza found in South Carolina

My sister sent me this earlier today. Her daughter and son are in 4H so they were informed, it could come into Ohio because of the migratory birds. Sorry if this is hard to read. I'm asking her if she has a link now...

I live on the east coast of Canada and we have been dealing with H5N1 too. Migratory birds have been identified as the likely vectors but it has been discovered on 2 farms. The illness itself had an 85% mortality rate with the remaining birds being euthanized.

We have been told that different poultry may display varying symptoms at different rates. Birds have been in the coop for much longer than they would like now, nobody goes around my birds and the area has advised against selling of birds, chicks or eggs and prohibited 10kms surrounding each farm.

Hopefully this passes through faster than the other virus we are all familiar with these days
