My geese came! I haven't seen them yet because my housemate picked them up at the PO, BUT...
there are chickens. 10 chickens. In the box with the geese. I didn't think they'd send packing peanuts with geese. Apparently I was wrong.
Now don't get me wrong, I love free chickens. HOWEVER, i've got to rehome any roosters I get, and I totally wasn't ready for 10 chickens. The bunny is living in the brooder cage, and I broke out the rubbermaid tub for the geese. I have no room for chickens! Now I have to go home and totally rearrange everything doggonnit.
i wonder what kind of chickens they are...

I had to laugh... you're addicted! LOL!
Good luck... I know how you feel!

Looks like they are either RIRs or Production Reds.. can't tell which. I started slapping together a temp brooder last night and pretty much eviscerated myself on the stupid chicken wire

Oh, bugger! And they will all be roosters, too. Poor little things. It bothers me that they are considered disposable. I've been trying to think of something to suggest that you could do with them. But I can't think of a thing! I have no idea what I would do with ten roosters. ... none at all...

Dude, I'M hoping for hens! I can't have 10 roosters!! Stubs would lose his tiny little mind!

Where'd you get them from? I was reading at Ideal today that they stuff with roosters (if they need to send extra for warmth.) Is that why you got the extra ones? For heat?

I have a few extra roosters as well...and I am going to use the pressure cooker for them. Should be nice and tender.
