Awesome surprise!

Update:

It's a sad day. One of the quail chicks got taken by a raccoon or a feral cat last night. :( pulled through the 1" wire mesh.
The remaining chick is ok, just kinda of moping around though!
Traps have been set!

Update:

7 weeks old today. No pics today. It's been a cool wet night last night and a steady rain all day today! Was surprised to see the lone chick and Dad, along with the Uncle, under the sheltered part of their enclosure. I figured they would be soaking wet and huddled under the brush...surprisingly, all my birds were using the sheltered end of their enclosures....haven't seen them all do that, until today!
The lone chick is still moping around...I guess it misses the other chick...noone to chum around with, and Dad and Uncle don't seem to be interested in chumming with it?...kinda sad to watch it wandering around the pen by it's self. :(

That can be tough all by his lonsome.. Do you have any about the same age he could chum around with
I do not, Penny. This hatching was a surprise and I had stopped hatching for the season at least a month before they hatched.
