It does seem like they are tossed and jostled a lot!!! Poor little babies. Seems there could be a gentler way to do it but that's jmo!!

And THOSE women throwing them into the different shoots...OMG I would love to sort them! If someone threw their child or pet that way they would have a cow!

It makes me ill to think what the poor chicks go through their first day of life. No wonder they freak when you get them home and reach for them...I would too had I gone through that.

My thoughts too! I couldn't stand to watch, it's as if they don't understand these little ones have feelings too.

Maybe that is the reason that some people get their chicks in the mail and then go to BYC to post things like: Help, Chick with leg problem.

There has to be another way to seperate all those chicks, other then throwing them around so much. [IMG]

Oh my word! I wouldn't have a job very long if I worked in a hatchery like that. [IMG] They would end up firing me! I can't believe how those poor little babies are treated!!! Sheesh! Another amazing aspect of this, is that the hatcheries don't have animal rights activists pounding down their doors! [IMG] Just think everyone! There's just one more reason to get our own bators!!! [IMG] We could be the activists and quit buying those chicks. [IMG]

After watching that, I'm so glad I got my chicks from a
'mom and pop' type hatchery!! To be honest, that looks like the type of hatchery where they hatch meat chicks. They're probably shipped to a farm where their raised in 8 weeks and then to a factory and made into chicken mcnuggets. I'd HATE to see the rest of these chicks lives. If you think of all the chickens Americans eat (and fast food places use)...well, it's just got to be a huge business. [IMG]

Excuse me, I have to go out and hug my chicks now.

[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] I didn't watch the video, cause I am a big wimp. I take it from everybody 's comments that they were being tossed around like a sack of tator's. That is just cruel. I couldn't work there either. Poor babies!!
