I'm a new livestock farmer as of April 2020. I only had normal pets prior so I'm learning. It's October now and I have 4 dwarf goats 9 turkeys and 130 chickens. I have 4 who started laying and I'm ecstatic :). On the road to today I found someone who sold ayam cenami eggs and I got a dozen and incubated and hatched 7 healthy babies. In my flock I have light and buff brahmas, standard cochins, wellsummers, sapphire gems, black bantam cochins, seabright, porcelain duccles, silver and gold laced wyandottes, jersey giants, salmon bantam favorelles, isa browns, midnight and cookoo marans, speckled sussex, blue bell eggers, easter eggers, americaunas, sicilian buttercups and mottled javas. I'm wondering what crosses you all have had that produced really pretty and dual purposed chickens. I'm building some breeding coops to put certain breeds into and want to know what breeds you all suggest I should try mixing.

Welcome to BYC! That’s quite the mix of chicken breeds that you have! You can get some pretty crosses from those. I am no expert in this so will wait for others to respond I just wanted to welcome you and wish you good luck in your endeavors.😊
Thank you and can't wait to see what people have and done. I'm so addicted to chickens now that I'm scared to visit Rural King lol. My mottled javas are only a week old. I go get feed once a month and dang it, I had to have these babies lol I should make a group for chi
Also a Phoenix hen to try and work on black skinned phoenixes
Phoenix tend to be unfriendly so not sure I want to mix that into my flock. I like to have them surround me and let me pick them up.

Oh mine are amazing!! Most of the hens let me mess with them when they brood and they brood all the time. I have one that is a cross and she is so sweet. My males are always respectful too. By far one of my favorites and they are great at surviving free range 24/7 365
