First time with these two breeds.

I have some ayam cemani and svart hona. Hatched out as chicks and I can't tell them apart. This was a very bad bad idea.

They are about 6 months old now. I have 2 cockerels and 2 pullets. It's easy to notice the difference among the cockerels, but the pullets I have no idea what they are.

Either I have one pullet of each breed or they are both ayam or svart.

Can anyone help give me some major differences to tell them apart.
I I'll to post pictures from my computer.

Thanks!

That is awesome that you have both where did you get yours from, the ayam females should be sleeker than the svart females

I got mine as hatching eggs off eBay. They were really black as chicks, but their mouths aren't all black.

I've googled images and sometimes they look like cemani and sometimes they look like svart. Lol

I think they are svart, but I want to be 100% sure before I breed them.

Well...at least I am not the only one, lol. I did the same thing. I bought Ayam Cemani hatching eggs and they happened to hatch out right about the same time I won an auction of assorted Greenfire chicks, which happen to include Svart Honas. I heard that although they look alike as chicks, as they get older the Svart Hona's black combs appear green in the sun, so that is what I am waiting for. Good luck :)

Has anyone tried crossing an Ayam Cemani to a Svart Hona? I am hatching out both separately right now, and was wondering if anyone tried to cross the 2 to see if it made a more vigorous fibromelanistic chicken.
