Ayam Cemani Hatch (Hatch-a-long)

Hey guys!

Just received a dozen Ayam Cemani hatching eggs in the mail. Easiest, quickest, and smoothest transaction I've ever done, courtesy of Jamie from Simply Crappie, another member I met on the forum. If you want Ayam Cemani eggs or Cinnamon Queen eggs hes got a thread over on Buy Sell Trade. Go check him out.

Anyways, my eggs are coming up to temperature and I'll be setting them shortly. Does anyone have any experience hatching Ayam Cemani that recommends a higher temp or humidity setting since they originate in Indonesia? Or would I be better off sticking to our cookie cutter temp of 99.5ish and around 50% humidity since Jamie and his flock is based out of Missouri, USA? Anyways I'll be updating this thread as I go if anyone wants to hatch along some Ayam Cemani with me! Thanks!
I got 6 from Jamie too! They should hatch tomorrow. I have mine under a broody cochin. I am wishing I had incubated them but the motor needs to be replaced.

Received today and set! The darker ones will be Olive Eggers (Opal Legbar Roo x Black Marans).
What do you think about the incubator from tractor supply? I have this same one and hatched some ducklings and it was amazing in temperature and humidity stability. I now had 21 eggs in the incubator and the humidity was all over the place. I could not keep it up. Last hatch all I had to do was add some water in the mornings and it put stayed pretty stable otherwise. I had 21 eggs in for these chickens and I’m going to only end up with eight

Very nice success with mail eggs. Love how small cemani are when first hatched. Welcome to the AC addiction lol.
I’ve purchased six eggs locally and it’s looking like only three are going to hatch. Is it normal that they have a little bit of color on their toes other than black or look slightly gray? Did I get taken??

Do you mean the Nurture Right 360? If so, that is an AWESOME incubator. Especially for the price. Its what I use and hasn't failed me yet.

The Nurture Right 360 is awesome. Very much set it and forget it. I've had better hatch rates with less than fully loaded. Not sure if it's coincidence or due to something being off when it's fully loaded, but 12-14 eggs seems like a sweet spot. Any time I've loaded it full, 22 eggs, I seem to have abysmal hatch rates.

Mine was great the first hatch. The 2nd go around I Put in 21 eggs and I only had eight hatch. The humidity the first time was great. Consistent. I only had to add water once a day. This time it would not keep the humidity for anything. So sad about it
