We just picked up an Ayam Cemani from local small town farmers today. She’s really nice and friendly, such a sweetheart. She’s 2 months old. Well she spent the day meeting and friending some chickens, while running away from and being pecked by others (of course). But she’s really not “afraid”. She’s quite brave really. Anyway after a long day I put her in the baby’s pen to get some rest without risk of being attacked by anyone. And she immediately sprawled out and is laying there like she’s dead. She’s not dead of course, I can see her breathing and she got once to get some food and water and then went right back to it. I’ve never seen a chicken sleep like this. Is it normal? A breed thing? Illness? I’ve attacked a picture:

One of my chickens will rest in the sun like that to soak up as much heat as possible. So she could just be doing the same thing, spreading herself out to absorb warmth. I haven't seen sick chickens spreads out like that, so as long as she's eating, sleeping, drinking, and moving around, I wouldn't be too worried.

At 8 weeks old she doesn’t need to be under heat. She likes the heat and is laying down but I worry she could overheat. Why is she with young chicks?
