Ayam Cemani x Leghorn

Do not mean to hijack the thread but I am running into the same dilemma with a silkie/leghorn cross that should be female as s(he) has black skin but a very male looking comb at 5 weeks. With all the research I did, I expected this cross to be sex linked too.
I am also confused. 🤷‍♀️

The cross is sex linked 100% but it would seem that cemanis or the cemani line you are using has melanin boosters that get past the dermal inhibitor. In Silkies this cross is 100% predictable, I have done it myself.
What about my silkie/leghorn cross above? Is this a female with a huge comb? Father is silkie and mother leghorn/RIR/white rock mix.🤷‍♀️

Is possible that only female will have black skin and black comb? And male will always have white/red comb?

That Is how it works
This seems to be right with the exception that female can also be completely white.
In term of percentages I would guess 50% of females will have black comb and skin, and 50% white comb and white skin.
I don’t know if I’m right regarding the percentage, those are really small number.

I think in the sex linked cross it will be as @nicalandia was saying. However, yours doesn't seem to be a sex linked cross, probably because there are other melanisers confusing things. I'm not sure mine is either, but I only have silkie x pekin and barnevelder x pekin. My 4 chicks all have black skin but I can't see that I have 4 hens. 1 pekin x has a slightly lighter comb though skin under wing is dark, I wonder if that will be a cockerel. Only 3 weeks old or so so way to soon to tell. I'm thinking my hens must not be pure for Id or they have extra melanisers. They all have yellow feet, but not brilliantly so.

weve bred these crosses for the past 3 years and their amazing birds very good layers and will fit in with any flock not a problem all of ours have purple/ black legs and combs and the odd red comb here and there and have had 3 different colours turn out and their not sex linked never have been and can send pictures of our adult babies if anyone would like or can see them on our facebook page
