Hi, hope you are enjoying BYC!
Most chickens will lay more than what they will average long term when they first start laying especially if they are getting plenty of light. My first year raising chickens, even my Easter Egger laid 21 days in row before breaking followed by another stent of the same. It leveled out though... and always does in my experience. Winter laying the first season is also very common.
Also some lines will have focused on better laying. People like me get breeds we like and focus on selecting birds that have the features we like to carry their genetics forward. I always choose better or earlier layers over late bloomers or slackers... assuming other aspects are met according to the standard of perfection for my selected varieties.
Congrats on your first eggs!
