There may be a bit more sheen (that or I'm convincing myself there is lol). The tail is worrying me but a few look like they were nipped at so that may be giving it more of a sickle look. Hopefully anyway.
Here's comparison for comb/wattles with the possible roo and a pullet. I noticed the comb growth in the past 2 weeks or so and it hasn't gotten much larger since. I don't see much about this breed either though
And a look at feathers.

They do look more rounded to me from that pic and the comb is still on the 'concave' side, so may just be moving early... Some will always keep you guessing, so keep an eye out.

I know cemani are quite a shiny bird in general; all my boys with some black feathering(the 6 or so I've hatched) seemed to get it in their first feathering and I would expect such a shiny breed to show pretty much as soon as their wings are mostly in and they've started getting some back feathers.

My 4 1/2 week old black orpington boy has a sheen though he's still pretty bare in the feather department. His sister, no sheen to speak of and pretty much fully feathered.

When I did a SLW hatch, all the boys had a sheen in their black lacing from around 5 weeks that the girls never got.

I wouldn't be able to tell you when the sheen started on this one. All have been shiny to me. These are my first black birds too so nothing to compare against except each other. Guess I'll be playing the waiting game on this one along with a langshan and blrw.

Langshan get the thick legs, don't they? I know langshan was part of my girl's founding group, along with minorca.

I did spy one of her brothers in the pen when I picked her out and his legs were as thick as a piece of jumbo chalk and that was definitely from the langshan in him. My girl's legs, though a bit feathered, are an average thickness. Not sure if it's specifically sex defining in croad langshan, but might add a plus one to the cockerel\pullet features tally.

No idea on how thick their legs get. I am terrible at this stuff. His/her legs are quite feathered though. Maybe ill get him/her at bedtime to get an idea of how thick they are. Its a week younger than my other langshans and sprouted up a comb a bit faster

Okay, based on a few posts concerning ayam cemani cockerels and the video I posted earlier, I'm tentatively siding with pullet. The comb/wattles are considerably smaller than the cockerels of the same age. On the flipside theyre probably bigger than pullets at this age as well. So I'm hoping it's just growing a little faster than the others. I'm fairly certain the tail feathers have been nipped at to give it a sickle feather appearance. I'm not great at sexing chickens but have never heard of sickles coming in before saddle or hackle feathers (correct if I'm mistaken). Nothing else is screaming rooster so far that I can tell. I am quite paranoid as I have 2 confirmed roos and 2 suspected from this batch.

I will update with photos in a few weeks. Hopefully to give other new cemani owners some ideas on development.

I think cockerel too. You should be seeing iridesence when he is in direct sun.

Theres a bit on it though i want to see all in the same light to compare. Im really hoping it's just a pullet with a growth spurt, lol. Its not a breed I've seen a lot so I want as many opinions as I can get especially from those who have had or accurately sexed them before.
