Ayam Cemanis. All roosters?

A sweet friend is fostering these chicks for me & she thinks all 7 are roosters. They were hatched mid october. We have no idea how to distinguish male/female at this point. No one is crowing. I can ask for more photos if that helps. ??

Hello! One thing that helps me is a picture of their comb and a side view of the tail/wing area. If you could get that then that would be great!

For me the pictures become too grainy when I click to enlarge them. Even with clearer pictures 5 weeks is a bit early for gender ID.

Well the comb can help tell. I was able to sex my rooster around 4/5 weeks

Individual pics from the side please. At this age, as stated, the only way to tell is from comb growth... If it shows. Typically I'd wait for 8 weeks unless you have an early comb.

Me too but their comb does look like it is growing but the angle may be making it look like that

Combs aren't always that reliable either. I've had plenty of girls with bigger combs than the boys to begin with.
Most reliable (except for hen feathered breeds) is to check for pointy saddle and hackle feathers.

Don't fall for the old wives tale/joke about roosters tasting saltier and hens tasting sweeter when you lick them back there. Please don't, Just Dont!
