Aylesbury unwell duck

Hi. We have two Aylesbury ducks that are about 6 months old. (Brother & Sister)

The last couple of days she hasn’t been herself. Seems lethargic and doesn’t want to go in the water which is not like her.

She is eating small amounts and sipping water frequently but won’t go in the water & will often sit down and have a rest on the grass.

They have fresh water& food to drink.

My father did put down some grit for them as she has started laying however I’m wondering if perhaps she has eaten too much of this as he didn’t put it with food.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Grit or oyster shell? if in a separate container from feed they know how much they need and will eat accordingly. When did she lay last? check her vent is it pulsing does she squat at all?

Oyster shell.

She laid two days ago.

We checked her this evening and her vent seems fine. She hasn’t squatted at all but did sit down quite a bit today which is unusual for her.

This evening she seems slightly brighter and did enter the water.

I just wondered if maybe she had an infection but the male duck seems absolutely fine although he seems to know she’s not feeling too good. (If that makes sense!)
