Do I change their food in the summer. Over the winter I mixed scratch and lay crumble. They have access to the whole yard at all times too. Do I need to do something different in the summer? I don't want to raise their body temp too much with the scratch. I mix half/half. Maybe this is wrong too? They seem happy and I sure do get a lot of eggs everyday. I have noticed that they are eating as much of their feed either. Is this normal when the temps rise?

Any suggestions/tips/help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi! I live in Oregon where it is much cooler...but I am thinking 50/50 scratch crumble mix is off. I am not sure they should have that much scratch, even though they probably like it. My chubby lil' hens love that cracked corn! I am not sure if it has enuf protein? I am no help on the temperature because 70 degrees is an extremely hot summer day for us ahaha!
