I have 13 chickens that will be 9 weeks old this week. I have one that eats great, but she stops and bobs her head from one side to another. Someone who knows a lot about chickens told me that she needed B-12. I am now giving all of them B-12 pellets with their hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, ground unsalted sunflower seeds and cinnamon in their breakfast. I am not seeing much improvement in this one. Has anyone else had this problem with any of your chickens? I have them on the medicated chick starter for the most part. I'm new to raising chickens.

Is she doing it when she's eating? Because my birds do that too, especially the ducks. It's pretty much readjusting their crop while it's filling up. My ducks especially do it because they need water while eating - they'll stop, do the little side to side head bob, wander over to the pool and grab a drink to help settle everything, and then back to the feeder. If she's only doing it while eating I'd say it was nothing to worry about. If it's all the time that she's doing it then that's a cause for worry.

No, it is after she has eaten, or when I observe her during the day. She is one of my best eater, and she looks healthy like the other 12.
She also seems to be more of a "loner" most of the time. I have 4 that will jump up in my lap to be petted even when I don't have any treats.
I realize they will be 9 weeks old tomorrow, but I'm in hopes that they will all be comfortable to jump up on my lap. I have one that seems to understand things more than the rest. She is already sleeping in the roost, but she is the only one. Do they all do this at different ages? All this is new to me, and I really appreciate any help from others. Thanks!
