Greetings all! Though I have been a long time lurker of this forum, this is my first post! My wife and I are starting a small farm here in Austin. Currently, we have 4 American Chinchilla rabbits and 14 Silver-Gray Dorkings (and one unknown bonus breed included in our order from Murray McMurray). The ancestry of the Dorking is what really sold me on them. Anyway, I would really appreciate any comments, suggestions, books.... anything when it comes to Dorking husbandry. Really want to establish a strong flock. Also, it would be great to know if there are any others raising Dorking in/around Austin. Thanks in advance!

Great news It's a good start. Austin is near and dear to me. My daughter lives there. I'm getting a doz SG Dorking eggs from a lady in AR on Sept 22. They are Horstman cock over Urch Hen. I'm starting new also but maybe later I could ship you some eggs to hatch and build up your line. Love Dorkings. I'm out of Shreveport La. Close

dun Dorkings are not a recognized variety, so no, I don't know anyone reputable working on them. that being said, Craig Russell does work with some odd colors, so maybe you can talk to him. google society for the preservation of poultry antiquities (I think that's it?) and you should find his contact info
