yeah I think so... the guy's name is Mark.was this the frontier culture museum?
I just got a call from a guy that runs a heritage museum here in VA. apparently they had some predator problems and lost their colored dorking flock... my only colored right now are babies i'm growing out, but hopefully I'll have some to part with later this summer.
if anyone else is interested in helping him out with some birds, pm me, and i'll pass along his phone number. he's near Staunton VA...
he said he'd email me some pics of the colored they had before, so i'll know what he's looking for, since there's so much variation among them.
they are so adorable!!! thanks for the movie! I needed a chick fix!
honestly, I think you have more pullets than cockerels... or maybe a 4/4 split, but i'm leaning more towards pullets for the top pic, and maybe one pullet in the bottom one. Finally got around to taking a picture! These are the surviving SG Dorking chicks from McMurray, just over a week old. I was quite surprised at how many of them died- none of the other breeds had any losses, just the dorkings... thought it was interesting. Anyhow, I ordered half males and half straight run, and unfortunately didn't look terribly closely at head coloring on the ones that died, so I don't know what I started with, but out of these 8 remaining, I'm thinking 3 girls, 4 definite boys and one uncertain but probably boy... (top right in the first picture) Anyone else care to give input? I included some side shots of the chicks in the same arrangement in the tub, a couple definitely have less eyeliner... Wish I had ordered more, after losing so many!!!![]()
