B.Y.C. Dorking Club!

Wasn't your dad the boss of him before? Maybe you just need to make sure he understands you're the boss of him now.

um... who? he's a chick I sold as a new hatch and got back from the person who bought him a couple months ago... my dad has nothing to do with chickens, except for eat them and their eggs. (besides it'd be hard raising chickens while camping across south texas in the winter).

and talking with the person who had him, she had seen signs of aggression as well, which is NOT tolerated. period. so yeah he might be trained out of it, but I don't want it there to begin with. so he's on the short list.

Spurred you or pecked you?

I had a Hen this week get my finger when I was giving them treats. She took a nice chunk out too.

no, spurred... I've got 2 neat holes in my hand. one by the middle finger base knuckle and the other on my thumb... no warnings at all.

and I understand about a roo protecting his girls, but they were already calmly eating breakfast when he went for me... same routine each day. feed, fill/replace water bucket.

so since he's displayed tendencies for his other owner, it's not acceptable here.

my other roos are all protective as well, to the point that one (since rehomed) lost a good chunk of comb fending off a hawk, but never batted an eyelash at a person.
