Emzyyy, you keep up the good work with that deer. People are posting
opinions here but may not be paying attention to the dates.

EMZYYY HAS HAD THIS DEER FOR 3 WEEKS NOW
Her family and her have made the decision to keep her so let's help
and support her in this very cool journey of caring for and nurturing
this beautiful little creature.

I see enough of these dead on the roads and couldn't care less what
local rules are. Her Dad's a smart guy and can handle it. This will
be a story Emzyyy tells hers grandkids someday.

I wanna see "walk the deer" pics!

Emzyyy, how did you take care of the ticks on her? Tick bath?

My brother raises orphaned fawns, and has great success with them. They turn them loose when they are bigger and after hunting season and has several who will come back and look at them . . .he is now going to breed wolves.

Honey you are so sweet. You remind so much of me and my sister and now my kids growing up. When my sister and I were about 10 and 8 my uncle bought over a fawn that he found after he killed the mom.(It was during hunting season)
After we contacted the wildlife refuge they let us keep her and provided us w/ the proper feed and milk. We kept her till she died of natural causes awhile back. We have even done this w/ wild piglets. So honey if your parents are able to let you keep it then good for you.
It will definitely be a experience you will never forget.

Yeah, obviously telling her to put it back now will not help.

I wouldn't count on the Caribou ranch taking them, if they are on record or serious ranchers, they probably won't risk their herd by taking a wild deer. You might need a back up plan.

I would vote for letting it go but its obviously already attached to you.

Either try letting it go, or raise it up and eat it, or something a long those lines.
Thats just my opinion, my dad and uncles have an elk ranch, my mom and I have raised their orphans before.

Anyway, I hope you make the best decision for Babe.

Very well said, PC! Let's encourage Emzyyy- maybe it isn't legal, maybe it isn't illegal- but it looks to me like it was the best thing to do for the fawn. Yeah, yeah, we all know that a doe will leave her baby, oftentimes for quite a while, but from the sounds of it, mamma was probably a casualty to the highway. I agree with PC, Emzyy and her dad, from the sounds of it, have good sense and a good head on their shoulders. And after all- the fawn has made it for 3 WEEKS now! Isn't that whats important here? Keep up the good work Em- you're doing awesome!!! And keep us updated with more pics

Very well done. I am so glad that babe is doing well. You know you could raise her up and let her go after hunting season...most likely she will stay close to the house because you are her "herd".

Keep us posted and updated.

You could tag her or collar her and most hunters wouldnt think of shooting her. She stick around the house probly
