We have a local vet who rehabs fawns. He uses goat milk to feed them.

if the baby was in the road, and CALLING for it's momma, then obviously the momma has been gone awhile, and the baby is getting hungry.

their instinct is to sit still while mom is gone, if mom doesn't come back after a while, they start to look,

either that or the mom was just a BAD momma "here baby, you stay here on this nice warm non-busy road, while I go with that good looking buck over there...*record player scratch*

my wifes cousin's dog found a baby deer that followed it home, it was hollering it's head off, they toook it in the house, took pictures then PUT IT BACK OUT

if momma had been around, she'd have layed the dog out?, dumb much?

I think this is a catch-22 situation..you probably saved the fawns life..I would have done the same but..in this state-ky big trouble is around the corner..game and fish can..not always ..be very un-understanding..a friend of ours did about the same thing but didn't call game and fish..someone else did..they came removed the deer took it to a rehab farm and socked him with a $500.00 fine so...be careful..

This is her sleeping spot she always liked hidding in the garage and I was afraid she would hurt herself on something so I had to confine her to this, she's usually only in here at night and while its raining usually she's in our cement patio thing its a big hole in the ground and she gets baths with the hose which she likes, she gets all excited and wags her tail and runs around you.

She is watching my dad (she doesn't really trust that many people except for me because I feed her so Im like Mommy, so she usually runs from other people.)

I havent been reading this whole thread but have you been stimulating her so she goes to the bathroom? If they get constipated its really bad...Everytime they eat they need to go.
