For all those anxiously awaiting your goslings to arrive...here is a teaser. We have been taking our Pomeranian goslings out to graze every afternoon when it isn't raining. The biggest ones are a bit over a month old, the middle ones just under three weeks, and the little ones are a week old. Here are some pictures from Monday's outing.

Following the junior goose mommy to the good grass...

Here they are walking between patches of grass...

Following Caboose, the leader toward the pond.....

They stopped and found the senior goose mommy for some love on their journeys.

The two oldest on their maiden voyage in the pond....

Taking a rest after all that walking and swimming.

LOVE the pics!!!!

they are so cute! What breed are they? I just can't wait for my goslings to come. I miss having babies follow me aroud the yard. I just put my order in today for 4 pilgrims, 2 buffs, and 2 toulouse at metzer. should be coming on march 19th

Thanks everyone. These are Buff Saddleback Pomeranian goslings that I incubated from my pair's eggs. These are the proud parents:

I also ordered eggs from two other breeders that have trios so I can bring in additional bloodlines and find all these little fellows unrelated mates. Those should start arriving in April and May. Hopefully by next year, I will have a flock of at least 14-16 of these geese: I just love them and so does my whole family.

Yes, the ones that I held (4 of the 6) right after they were born and daily thereafter are imprinted the most. The oldest two are very imprinted on me and my daughter. The youngest set is also imprinted on me, but not as much as the oldest ones, and the middle ones are mostly imprinted on the oldest goslings. That works out really well since the oldest follow us and the rest follow them.

They are super cute when they get behind and run to catch up. They extend their nubby little wings for balance and wobble vigorously side to side as the run. They are very affectionate and Caboose and Tex, the oldest ones, come over to get petted or climb in my lap if I sit down.

daisyjack....congrats on the babies! Gosh, this last 30 days will be like a kid waiting for Christmas, won't they? Make sure to post pics when all your babies arrive!
