Babies DOA :'(

My anxiously awaited for chicks arrived in the mail today. I only ordered 4 -- 2 Amber Links and 2 Easter Eggers. I was practically jumping up and down in the post office for it to be my turn. Had my phone camera all set and ready to go. Opened the box like a kid at Christmas and the 2 little Amber Links were dead. Just wanted to share with people who understand.

I'm sorry you lost babies it does happen. That really sucks though. The hatchery should replace/refund any DOA chicks.

Most hatcheries will replace DOA's. I would contact them to find out.

Thank you for the hugs! Yes, it was the first time I bought from the hatchery. The 2 tiny EEs are adorable, though!

Which hatchery did you order from

Meyers. I have been in contact with them and they said to keep an eye on the EEs and call them in 2 days (today) to figure out how we want to deal with it: refund, replace, store credit. My bf insists on getting 2 more. He does nothing regarding my chickens, so I have to keep telling him it's hard work raising chickens! I am suburban and that would mean raising 8 chicks at the same time. I love the little red hens, though. It's tempting. I was just going to add a few each couple of years, so they wouldn't just age at the same time, but...
