After a long, drawn out search for somewhere, anywhere without millions of fire ants last night, we finally found a spot and moved the tractor. Again. -_- Those evil things are everywhere! I put a small tote in the tractor and put Mama and Thor inside it. She simply would not lay down. Thor kept peeping and peeping and climbing under her and trying to pull her down and she just wouldn't do it. I'm not sure why, but I think she was still eager to get back to her nest. Once she settled down I added the ducklings underneath her, after getting bitten a couple times. (ouch) I got up at 5:00 so I could turn the tote over before she tried to jump out and squished a baby. I had to beat (not really) her away from the nest while I added the babies back because she wanted back to them so badly. I was so happy! I had tried to give them to her earlier and she showed no interest in them. Now I'm afraid to reach in to refill the waterer for fear of losing my fingers! =P She doesn't want anyone messing with her babies. She doesn't seem to care about getting out to her nest anymore. She's taking good care of them. They still won't walk much, but they are starting to try more. Thor is happy to have friends.
