They are almost a week old.

I can't believe it. It can't have been that long ago.

omg they're adorable!!! i'm so glad that Loki is turning out to have a normal chickie life! and i'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks that the chicks look like dinosaurs right now!! my chicks turned 3 weeks old today and they really do look like little dinosaurs... but i was afraid if i mentioned it people would think i was crazy!!!!!

lol I'm not afraid of people thinking I'm crazy. I call it their pterodactyl stage. Especially silkies. But they pull it off better than other breeds

The babies are looking good! And the little Jay. I raised some finches years ago, 2 of them. They were younger than the bird you found and, surprisingly, they made it. I hope your lucky one does too!
Did you find your bantam's nest? Having those nasty ants around... *shudder*

Uh-oh. Please say a prayer for Loki. I woke up this morning and went to check on him and he was laying, face to the ground, barely breathing, cold as death. I've put a heat lamp on and separated him from Thor because Thor kept walking on him. He's perking up the warmer he gets, but I have no idea what happened. Thor obviously wasn't cold. I'll keep you updated. Please pray for him.

I was able to put him back in with Thor and take the heat lamp off. I'm going to have to keep a very close eye on him today. He can stand up and run around now, but is still weak and prefers to lay down. I'll let you now something when I know something. It looks right now like he'll be okay. (Thank God. I would have been devastated if he had died. He looked so good yesterday.)

Grr. :\ He's so confusing. I walked out a few minutes ago and he was on his back. I flipped him over and he stared running around.

I put him back in his own box because Thor started stepping on him again. I think I have him at a good temperature. He has finally started peeping. I looked up my problem here on BYC and everything I've found says "warm him up and give him electrolytes" -_- Okay, done that. I guess I just have to wait and see what he does.
