Ursuline Chick
Rest in Peace 1957-2024
We did what you are doing, letting babies and mom out with adults and supervision, but put them back at the end. Each day we let them together for longer periods of time, until finally they were out at bed time and where interested in the big girls roosting area. So we let them spend the night, they are all full members of the flock now, with a small amount of pecking order issues, but nothing serious. Good luckNo she didn't hurt the baby. And the other girls didn't even seem interested. I just watched closely. I put them back in their cage in the coop for the night, but will let them out again tomorrow. The babies were so tired!
