What is your experience with Valley Hatchery?

They simply don't hatch them

Unfortunately, that's a myth. There is no reliable way to determine the gender of a chick, in-ovo. If there was, every hatchery on Earth would be using it! Some people swear by egg shape and hatching temperature to predict genders - both of which have a pretty reliable 50/50 success rate - but we have yet to see any scientifically proven methods here on BYC. The first person to reliably figure it out will make a fortune selling the plan!

I can't recommend Valley Hatchery. We ordered Silver Appleyard ducks early this year and what we got were a mixed bunch of crossbreeds as far as I can tell. I don't believe Silver Appleyards are supposed to have black bills or a brown head. After contacting the hatchery they seemed unconcerned and offered no solution.
