These guys hatched yesterday and today... We've got one more egg to go. Sadly I had to pull the other one. It had pipped at the wrong end and I think it was too big to get out. By the time I discovered it the little guy had passed
I didn't know it had pipped because it was in a carton... That was my first time hatching in a carton and probably my last thanks to this sad experience.
Fortunately we have three healthy babies so I'm happy about that! They are all funny colors...two blue Wyandottes (one with a yellow face, one with a black face). I'm not sure what colors they will turn out to be. The third is a black and white penguin-looking sexlink from my BR hen and my blue copper Marans roo. No white dot on the head so we have at least one pullet! YAY!
These guys had a big day - moving out of the incubator into their temporary box where I introduced them to their 2 week old siblings... Man do they grow in two weeks! You forget until you see them side by side
So far everyone is getting along fine!
