baby bad wings is sick - help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think she has sour crop, I will buy some apple cider vinegar to add to her water, but other than that, I'm not sure what to do. I tried massaging it just now. It feels large and squishy, larger than it did when I first picked her up this morning.

Sounds like sour crop.
Try to separate her from the others. You need to with hold food for 24 hours. You can give the ACV in the water during this time. Massage the crop as much as you can. After the 24 hours you can start with a little yogurt to see how that goes then if all goes well, you can progress to feed.
Wait the full 24 hours before giving the yogurt. I caved in and gave mine some food before the 24 hours and I had to start all over again. I also gave some bread soaked in olive oil before giving the yogurt. It helps to get things moving along in there.
Hope this helps and baby bad wings gets better!!!

Thanks but guess what? We are scheduled to leave for vacation Sunday, so the timing of this really stinks. I have already enlisted the help of my neighbors to let them out and help feed and give fresh water but how can I ask someone to nurse her back to health? I'm almost tempted to take her with us but not sure she'd deal with a 7+ hour car ride. Nor would I want to worry about her the entire time (which I will do anyway).

Start the treatment now and see how she does.??? So saturday about noon see how her crop feels and then by night time if she is still showing no signs of sour crop, she should be OK. Just ask the neighbor to out some acv in the waterers for all chickens for the nest few days and it shouldn't be too much for them.??? But you should see an big improvement in the nest 24 hours as long as things are moving along in the crop. Do the acv today, tomorrow start the bread soaked in olive oil and then yogurt and see how it goes??? How long will you be gone?

After you do this initial treatment, will the neighbor be able to check her a little closer just to be sure it doesn't return???

howling, take a deep breath.

And follow the good advice a step at a time. It is never a good time for any illness. But just give baby bad wings TLC and the care she needs. She will probably turn around quickly. My pet sitter is not particularly good with my feathered babies, but she will follow instructions if I write them down for her.

She will also call me if I need to get home. I am sure your neighbors would be willing to do the same.

Thanks, obviously I'm in a panic, but it's only because we are leaving sunday morning and i don't want to burden anyone anymore than I already am. I will try and get some antifungal (nystatin) to get down her and hopefully that will help things get better. She has eaten a little yogurt and drank a little water but seems so lethargic. Now thinking she shouldn't have eaten the yogurt but I am trying to keep her strong.

btw, this is the same hen who upon our return 2 years ago (same time - summer) was badly injured when we came back from vacation. our chicken sitter who was inexperienced with chickens never noticed. My son and I rushed her to the vet and her wound was cleaned of all maggots and stitched back up. Along with this, she was anesthetized during the operation, given antibiotics, fluids and pain meds. She recovered amazingly quickly and even grew back her feathers after her molt. She's special to my kids.
