Baby Buckeyes

We finally got our Buckeye chicks (just hatched) this week, and I finally posted some pics of them on the website here: http://www.betterhensandgardens.com/2010/08/22/baby-buckeyes-are-here/

These Buckeyes seem quite inquisitive already as compared to the other chicks - they don't seem to be as afraid of the big human hand in the brooder. I'm hoping it's a sign that these will be very friendly, sociable birds.

Awwww, so cute! I got a buckeye chick this spring, but he turned out to be a rooster, so I have to get rid of him

(No roosters allowed where I live). But, we found a nice home for him with a family that has a flock of buckeye pullets and wants to breed him. So he will have a good life! I will miss him though, and his cutie crow which he just started last week. Good luck with them, they are very adorable!

The baby Buckeyes are now five weeks old, and have moved from the brooder into a barn stall - they're doing great and seem more inquisitive, and fearless than any other chicks we've had. Ohhhhhh, how cute! And Oooooh, I can hardly wait for the Buckeye hatching eggs I've ordered! I so hope I have a good hatch, AND that they are as good looking as yours, and as inquisitive!
