[/IMG]I got 2 speckled sussex chicks today and noticed one has perhaps a beak deformity? Anyone seen this before?

I have a bird with a lopsided beak, she eats and drinks fine. From the picture, it looks like the beak is just elongated. If it is a deformity, but it's not hurting the bird, I wouldn't worry.

Which one is it you're pointing out? I can't see anything wrong tbh.
X2 about what minnowey said though.
If it turns into cross beal, you'll definitely notice. Sometimes it happens really fast. One moment they're normal and the next it's growing sideways. I deal with pullets a lot at work anf we get one or two out of each batch

She's pointing to the one in front of the other one, with it's eyes closed. His/Her beak is elongated, with less of a constant slope than the other one.

The bottom chick. The upper part where the nostrils are is not hard and formed like the other chick. It eats fine, but I think some water can come through when it drinks. She otherwise seems fine.

The length wasn't the worry. If you zoom on the pic it is easier to see. The upper part where the nostrils are is not formed like the other chicks.

Quote: That would be a bummer...it does look odd.
Maybe take a look inside at the roof of it's mouth...both of them for comparison.
Tho if it's eating and drinking ok, and continues to do so....just continue to observe.
Not much you could do about it anyway, other than cull.
