baby chick feed

I'd say after 6 weeks they should be good to go. That will give them time to grow and get feathered out. But, honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about taking them off of it too early, cause I never gave my chicks chick feed. Just the normal full grown chicken food right from day one. Now, some of you may think that that's absurd, but I did it with about 65 of them and they're all okay.

Define "normal chicken food." The answer really depends on what you're feeding and what you plan to feed in the future. You can keep chickens on starter for life, with calcium on the side. Or you can switch to grower/all flock again with calcium on the side. Or you can use layer.
