Our newest babies! They will be 2 weeks old tomorrow! We hatched some olive eggers & some Marans.

Just got this little baby yesterday along with another just like it, two Silver Laced Wyandottes, two Golden Laced Wyandottes, an Amber Link, and a Jumbo Rock Cornish (a hatchery whoopsie). Townline Hatchery said it's their Araucana-Ameraucana strain, but heard from others it's just an Easter Egger.

Either way, it's WAYY too cute.

I'd love to know if anyone had a chick that looked like this and has a picture of what it looks like now! It's like a slowly unraveling Christmas preset, and I'm too anxious to wait!

One of my four chicks died earlier today I tried to save him but i didnt know what was wrong with him. Maybe he was stepped on was the only reaaon i could think of... So sad

This is their second night in their BIG pen. We built them the big girl and boy roost and I made the little board ladder thing so they could get up to the first board. Well they made me feel like an idiot tonight when I say them BOTH just fly up to the 1st board on the roost. lol
My RIR's are a month old tomorrow and the Black Aust. are 2 weeks old.

It sure is upsetting. You will go through so much heart break hatching these guys. Almost every hatch I go through one. Sometimes it just happens.

Does anyone know what type of chick this is? I'm new to chickens. I think it's a little boy. Look at those tail feathers!
