Baby Chick Pictures!!!!! POST!

I've heard the best way to tell is to stretch out there wing and look at the feather coming in. If it's uneven then is a hen. If it's flat then it's a roo. We did this and they did turned out to be hens.
Again, this only works for for breeds bred specifically for this.

This only works with a specific cross breed, not on just any chicken.

I'm not quite sure if she is comfortable enough or not. Lol!! Can ya say ROTTEN

Here are my chicks. They are 3 weeks. Check out the huge chick. It's a white rock. The others are considerably smaller. I was worried about the biggest chick, but it seems to be doing fine except for looking really scruffy.

I think its funny how some of you guys are talking about your dogs KILLING your chicks yet mine are scared of them lol:rolleyes:
Just jumping in here, as I found this thread while I was browsing. I have two dogs, and these are my first chicks. The old guy is in absolute love with the babies.

Today, she peeked into the brooder room to see what I was doing. When she realized I was playing with the chicks, she hung her head and walked away. If I manage to coax her in there, she'll try to melt into the door, and slink away.
