and it was WELL worth the year wait...wouldn't change a thing! Not only did it give me time to add more buildings, but having the Heritage breeds are sooo much better. They slept all night...although they thought the trip home was awfully long and were very tuckered out

They are less flighty than the production birds I got last year. Shortly here, we are going ton work on our imprinting and I will get better pictures of each of them! Yes, I was doing that

the past few days, after they piped

vnsseed is one of our BYC member breeders and they are just great! They have Dorking's as well. OH, and these will all have names...once I figure out their personalities, as they are my starter breeders. I can't stop grinning

Now to here from Jwhip, another BYC breeder, on the Heritage Barred Plymouth Rocks

I have officially lost my mind! I got 8 more chicks today!! 4 red pullets, 2 bantams, and 2 Russian oloffs. The 2 bantams have fluff on their legs. Not sure of sex but will do better pics later. At TSC! Lol

and just incase I got a couple doubles...I took two more of the ones I wasn't sure if I got...they were climbing all over me, in every cuff, under my shirt...they LOVE snuggling in my hair and make the cutest wirly chirping noise.

First we played jump on the big persons hand then off again...before being actually picked up out of the brooder...than, after kittie was safely locked in the bathroom, we had a climb all over the big person fun play. jnsseed and his wife did a great job imprinting with them...they really love being picked up and playing with the big person

haha! Oh my. I know the feeling. We went to go pick up some more layer feed and ended up with four more chicks. Then we wanted more and got 4 MORE! I still didn't get my Silkies at that point so we went to a breeder and got Silkies. Chickens are like potato chips... you cant have just one.

Almost brought home some new chicks today, but since I didn't know exactly what they were, I resisted. 24 is enough for now xD There's always next year to get more. haha. Especially since we'll only be keeping about 10 hens and a roo at any given time. (Mt Healthy Hatchery...Tractor supply)

They're so tiny compared to our 2,3, and 4 week old chicks.

There was also a few bins of some creamy white chicks with black dots. Any ideas what they were?
