Yep. We have some named after food. Depends on who's turn it is to name. The last hen we got is named Bacon- named by my boyfriend. We've decided her 2 eggs that are incubating will be called Ham and Sausage if they hatch. Lol

I see that someone else names some of their critters after food, LOL...

These are our latest to hatch at 1 1/2 weeks old. The silvery one and the dark colored one with the yellow head are Easter Egger and Buff Orpington crosses. Their names are Luna and Athena- my 11 year old twins are into Greek Mythology at the moment. The golden colored one, Kate is a Rhode Island Red Buff Orp cross. I just love their little fluffy bottoms.

Blue and Black Orpingtons. Something like a week old now.
As cute as the little boogers can be.
I've been a mother hen for about a year, but my other chicks were 6 weeks when I brought them home. These little fluffy nuggets are so sweet. I worry over them constantly. I'm like a first-time mother. OMG it's stretching! IS THAT NORMAL???

Yep... I keep catching myself thinking those things.

During morning coffee yesterday at four weeks. They're well socialized and exploring the coop for the first time. One more week of feathering and the weather here should allow them into the coop full time.
