I had a Broody raise baby ducks. when the ducks got older they would acknowledge the momma hen with a nod when passing, and one duck would say, "That was our mom, remember?"

My girls are 5 weeks old today and getting closer to being sent outside. I may wait 2 more weeks to introduce them to the chicken run. At least we are expected to have a mild winter. Top two are supposed to be black copper marans and bottom two are Easter Eggers. I say supposed to be because many have said they don't much look like them. At least they have the feathery feet.

Does anyone here ever weigh their chicks? I couldn't find anything when googling. I decided to weigh mine yesterday and as expected the BCM's are much heavier.

Tried to get them all, a 5-week Frizzle and four 3-week Silkies, but they wouldn't stand still.

Took the babies for a little stroll today. Today they were officially one day old.

Here is the first broody batch after four weeks. If anybody has a guess on sexes, I'd be interested to hear it.
Roosters were likely dark EEs, but a Dominique cold have snuck in:
