We started out with 3 Easter eggers.

Fast forward 4 days

We added 12. 3 well summers, 3 barred rocks, 2 cinnamon queen, 2 Easter eggers, 2 Dominique's. I HAVE GOT TO stay away from the big r.

One of our week and a half old Rhode Island Reds. Set her/him on the table to try and get a good picture, instead I got this face right after she left a present on the tablecloth. (The girlfriend is NOT happy about that one)

Man I know that face lol!! I've had several do it on me, the carpet, my husband, etc etc lol! But they are so dang cute lol!

22 of 24 eggs have hatched with a 23rd on the way. 20 were already ready to go when we took these photos.
The difference between chicks I've hatched myself and chicks I buy from a store or hatchery is really amazing.

First foray into the awesome world of baby chicks! I think I could watch them all night (so could kitty). Very good thing my contractor husband builds right and tight! And he is doing so well indulging my new infatuation. ..Although there was considerable eye rolling when I put the toys and stuffed animal in brooder

Well Duchess did ok last night. I put one if my daughters tiny stuffed animals in with her. Although when I got up about 5:30 this morning she was up and trying to get out of the door of the crate. I hope I can find that blu kote today so I can put on her and put her back with her friends. I feel bad having her in a "time out"!
