Baby Chick Pictures!!!!! POST!

All my little's have almost all their feathers and were old enough to go into the "kiddie" coop. They made it through their first night!

It rained and was in the 70s. I woke up and was so happy to see all of them! Our other hens moved into the new coop (for all of them when the chicks get big enough to move in with them) they adjusted quite well and loved it! I will post pics of my chicks here later.

i don't see movement but its only day 7 the red ring kind of looks like a vein but there still seems to be veins coming from that line

Here's a pic of my golden campine

Oh what a cute chick! What does her back look like? Mine is (was) more gray, dark brown and light brown. I got her out of a rare assortment. She looked like a squirrel mouse mix. LOL

I have newer pics of my chicks but need to upload them.

Edited to say: I just looked at chicks in the Golden Campine thread and I believe you are without a doubt correct about my chick. They grow into a beautiful chicken! YAY

My wife brought 6 chicks home yesterday. Dont know how old they are.Never raised chickens.I will be picking you guys brains for advice.

Stan..it would not use a big pan for water they can and will drown easily. And they will poop in their food with that big of a container. A food base is like $3 don't really need the jar they sell and a water base either buy the plastic jar or a small mouth mason jar will screw right into it. I prefer the mason jars easier to clean.

I agree with this totally. The base in my area for food or water is $2.00 at any feed store and I do prefer the mason jar as they are harder to tip over. and as they grow, you can put the feeder or waterer on a block of wood to raise it up so they don't constantly kick their bedding in them.

At what age do you raise the water up higher so it stays cleaner?
