Baby Chick Pictures!!!!! POST!

The ducklings are 10 days old!

and had to sneak this pic in... I bred and raised the dam (mom) of the silver dapple spot (then bred and raised him), and purchased the solid silver dapple mare before she was two. Both are now a little over 4 yrs old and this is the first work with them together. The top part of the tree came down on Friday morning between 5:30 and 5:45 am. Woke me up!! A friend took the pics for me while I had them working... Here they are pulling the broken "log" past the chicken coop I will be working on today. For them, it was a nice amount of work - they broke a good sweat pulling. Their first time pulling together.

Our "Super Broody" bantam cochin Anna went broody again--this makes brood #3, and she's only 15 months old! Instead of sticking regular-sized eggs under her as I had in the past two broods, I let her set a clutch of nothing but bantams. In addition to the four bantam eggs I gave her, a sneaky bantam added a fifth that evening, which I let her keep. All five eggs hatched--several days early, in fact!--and the super-duper-adorable results can be seen below.

the yellow is a Bantam cochin frizzle both parents and grandparents bantam cochin frizzles, and the gray is non-bantam born the same day. They are 3 weeks old.
