So, my chicks are not babies anymore but I had to share pics of Baby Cochin (cochin/silkie cross). The name makes it very easy to know who we're referring to. Lol
Can you believe this little thing is nearly 8 weeks old? What can't be seen in these pictures are those adorable fluffy feet. I'll get some more photos soon. Too cute!

First night in the big coop with their 2 moms. One on each side. The moms went broody on the same clutch of eggs.

I keep my babies in a baby playpen too!

Best thing I've found so far. I use puppy pads taped to the sides to absorb water mess. I had baby ducks in it for a while and they are sooo much messier than the chicks.

My babies I got a few days ago. About a week old

. Can anyone guess what they are? I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to chickens.

My 4 week old chicks went into their new home this morning. They were shy at first but seem to be adapting to the new "digs". They found their food and are eating and I have seen 2 of them drinking so the others should follow soon. I gave them some blueberries I picked this morning and they love this new treat. Now I can clean up the brooder and other supplies and put everything away. So happy to have my office back to myself.

Does my chick look like it's comb is turning red? Is it a roo? This one is the biggest chick. I have another white one that is the same age but is much smaller with a smaller comb. I was trying to wing sex the ones i was choosing, but my friend gave me these two at a few weeks old so i don't know if they're boys or girls. What do you think??
