Baby Chick Pictures!!!!! POST!

EE's tend to be great birds. just because they don't meet "The standard of perfection"'s definition does not degrade them.

no this bird isn't an easter egger either hes just a barnyard mutt. i still love him just the same was just expecting sone puffy cheeks! i had an easter egger and she was amazing! list her to an unfortunate accident but she was the sweetest girl following me all over even as a new chick!! they are great chickens indeed!

Looks like it's time for either a top or higher walls for my brooder. Chicks are 4.5 weeks old, living in a big ol' watermelon box. Pulled into the garage this afternoon to this sight. The tightrope walker is Moe - the biggest of our 9, and the obvious dominant bird.

If you are wondering, that is definitely a cockerel.

Thanks! We were pretty sure from very early on. His comb started developing and turning red by about 2.5 weeks old - the earliest of any of our chicks - its perfectly vertical growth got him referred to once as having a Mohawk, and the name Moe was born. :)

He definitely displays "ownership" qualities over our flock - last week when they were roaming the garden, our black lab (who had not yet been introduced to the chicks) got out and tried to chase them down to get a sniff. All but Moe scurried off to hide in the vines of the pole beans. Moe stood his ground and stood up in the dog's face! It was adorable.

Yes, this little one's cheeks are so big, you can barely see it's eyes! It is a pure bred Easter Egger! It's name is "Puff the Magic Dragon!" Colette

Yes. All EEs are mixed. He's very cute though!

The two Golden Comets are Toast and Honey. The two Blue Andalusians are Blueberry and Pepper.

In the background is my frizzled bantam Cochin, Mini-me. She is almost 3 months older, but not much bigger. I put her in here with the babies to let her gain as much size as possible before I put her out with my adults whom are all standard sized.
