Thanks. I've got blue genetics figured out. I have a flock of mottled and mottled split to black. I think my black hen and black roo made a blue chick so they both carry the mottling gene and I'm not sure if the blue chick can or will express mottling...

Your chick is adorable gimmie birdies .
It looks like it has blue coloration. Have my fingers crossed its a barred. Keeps us posted as she / he grows up .

The eggs below are from the left... little tan is from a bantam cochin not fertile, but first egg. I have 4 little blue eggs ready to hatch and 2 more med. tan eggs ready to hatch. The large green is a normal sized egg.

I have a staggered hatch. I put in some test eggs to see if they were fertile. I got this cutie yesterday.from one of the med. tan eggs.(coco maran mix mom) the little blue eggs are from a charcoal mom actually not a bantam but a med. sized chicken.

up date- a little blue egg hatched. The tan egg chick at day 3 is 3 x the size of the blue egg. site won't let pic. will but it up later.
