Oh, I love them so! They're currently in a large cardboard box propped on two chairs.. in a corner of my room LOL

Reason being: My first batch of chicks (3 Black Sex Links and a Barred Plymouth Rock) I had on a table in the hallway and they grew up to be so tame/loving! They come every time they see me and love to hop on me to nap! My second batch of chicks (Silkies, Easter Egger's, Wyandotte, Australorp, Cuckoo Marans, and Ameraucana) were left on the floor in my spare room and nobody visited that room unless it was me to feed/change their bedding/give them treats. Besides placement, I did everything the same with both batches and for some reason, even though the second batch are all breeds that everyone says are the sweetest, they do NOT like to come near me. In fact, they run screaming bloody murder - even if I have treats.. I don't know why and what happened but the only variable that differed was the placement of their brooder.
Since these chicks are much more expensive and I honestly raised chickens in hopes of having pets that would come when I called/let me pick them up/hop on me (such as my first batch) I am going to see if I was correct in my guess that it was brooder placement. I will repeat everything I did and see how they turn out. As to not risk it, I am keeping them in my room which is high traffic, compared to the hallway which is medium, and the spare room which is very low. I'm going to change their bedding every few days to keep the smell down and I'm also using zeolite but plan on switching to Koop Clean as soon as my order arrives.

As with all excited Mothers.. most of these pictures were taken at once in different angles.
Sorry! I know they might all look similar to you guys but I just can't resist.

Warning: Sleeping chicks!
May make you want to purchase more of your own!

For those of you that are just joining us and haven't seen my other post, I'll fill you in on their breeds!
The Lavender one is a French Marans, the striped one is a Cream Legbar (Rees line), and the white one is a Splash Isbar!

Apologies for the long post! I tend to ramble..

OMG DJ IS GORGEOUS!! She looks like someone literally took a Silkie head and pasted it on a Silver Penciled Wyandotte mix.

I love their names!

I know! Would love to have a whole flock of her. Sadly, she and PJ will be the only ones of that pairing. Olaf, their father, died protecting his flock when coyotes attacked.

Those are super cute!!! I'm personally going to get a black sex link, but I'm also going to get at least one or two more, one of those will be picked by my friend. She lives in the city, in an apartment, but loves birds so I'm going to raise a chicken for her. I'll be sure to upload some pictures when I get them.
