This baby chick was born about two days ago. She started walking (off balance) yesterday but didn't want to drink so I let her be because she was still very young. Today she walked better but not normal and she started drinking water. I feed her small bread crumbs because shes a bit weak for anything else I can think of. So overall I think she's okay, but her one eye is cloudy and I did some research and apparently it could be marek's disease? Is there anything I can do to confirm its marek's disease?

No that is not Mareks disease at this age. Mareks symptoms rarely show up before 5 weeks of age. I wonder if her eyes were stuck or effected inside the egg. I would rinse her eyes with warm saline or eye wash, and wipe any goo off. Then use a small dab of either Terramycin eye ointment or plain Neosporin in each eye twice a day. Hopefully she will be able to see. Can you post a picture of her standing showing her legs? Are her legs splayed apart or does she have a slipped tendon? Human B complex vitamins 1/4 tablet crushed into water or Poultry Cell can be given in case she needs extra riboflavin.

The eye is closed, so I don't see anything cloudy.

I agree, I'd rinse the eye with saline, work on getting the eye open and applying some ointment to the eye.

Cute chick!

Marek's cannot pass through eggs.. and symptoms take at LEAST 3 weeks before even possibly being seen.

Bread crumbs is a terrible idea.. chick feed, crushed a little extra or scrambled egg would be a far better choice. Are you in the US?

My favorite hatching resource has POSSIBLE causes of most anamolies seen during incubation/hatching starts on page 52 ish..

https://www.hubbardbreeders.com/media/incubation_guideen__053407700_1525_26062017.pdf

Could have been caused by a vitamin deficiency in the hatching egg, or improper incubation temperature.. top 2 considerations in my book.. with more questions like what day of incubation was it that the chick hatched, how many others hatched but are fine?

Do you have access to any supplement like Poultry nutri drench orothers already suggested?

Beautiful baby! :love

Hope it continues to show improvement and thrive! :fl
