Hey, I have 6 week old chickens and lately one of them has been pooping out really liquid poop. I was just watching them before when one of them made a sort of farting noise and she pooped out very liquid poop that was white and sorta foamy. Does anyone know what could be causing this and if it is healthy? I will try posting a picture of it if she does it again.
Thanks

Are you checking for poopy butt? If they have anything still on them after they poop and you don't clean that off and free up their vent, they will have serious problems. I run medium hot water and dip there butts in to soften it, then use a soft cloth to clean it off. Usually the vent is just above and this has to be kept clean and clear at all times. Judging by the farting sound she is making, her vent is likely partially blocked. As to the poop itself, what are you feeding them? I feed dry chick feed and wet, in a slurry. I also give them plain, unsweetened yogurt so they get some good bacteria in their systems. For a treat, I give them cooked egg yolk mixed with a little egg white, crumbled together.

This has worked extremely well for the 23 chicks I hatched a week ago and I haven't had any problems so far.

I would also suggest giving all of your new chicks medicated feed. We have always done that and one time I forgot to last summer and I had one do the same thing. Unfortunately we didn't take action soon enough to save her. I would do what Stephanie suggested ASAP. Good Luck

I give them 6 cups of water in their waterer, I add 1/4 tsp of apple cider vinegar and 1 tsp molasses. This provides nutrition and, with the exception of just a few poopy butts, the majority of my week old chicks don't have poopy butt at all. The chick feed I have for them is already medicated too.

My chicks are healthy and very happy inside their large, cardboard brooder. I will be posting pictures today or tomorrow.

Thanks for the responses! Sorry I didn't respond earlier I haven't been online much. My chickens are now full-grown and healthy! The pooping didn't seem to be a problem. I did give them butt baths. I think I was just overreacting since it was my first time raising chickens. Thanks for the help :)

HELP!
We have new babies. A couple different kind. silkies, wyandotte, polish, orphington, asian, and so.. One of my new babies (a silkie) is pooping out what looks to be egg white. I am not sure what it is. When we applied a warm rag to her bottom, it started pooping more and feeling better. I need help on what to do and how to solve this. All of my chickens are my babies & I hate for one to pass. So please, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
