Baby chicks and Rust

I have a large dog kennel crate that I would like to keep my baby chicks in until they're big enough to go outside. Front metal door with a small squares in it looks like it has a little rust on it. The rest is not peeling nor is it flaking. Just curious if that would hurt the baby chicks?

Really thank you. Next it's been sitting awhile with wet leaves on it and in it. Should it be okay as long as I wash it thoroughly and let it dry and set out for a few days?

Yeah, just clean it good and dry it. The kennel I use is in the same shape and nobody has died.
