Baby chicks and what type of water is best

Is it OK to give baby chicks distilled water?

Hello and Welcome to BYC! Glad to Have You in this Poultry Loving Community. I never have and wouldn't. Tap water has some beneficial minerals in it normally unless it has been softened.

I use well water that has not been softened and rain water.

It won't hurt them if that's what you're asking. As long as there's nothing really weird about your local water (I'm looking at you, Flint Michigan) it will be fine.

The main thing is just don't give them really cold water when they're young (like straight out of a tap or a refrigerator dispenser) as cold water can give them a fatal chill in their first couple weeks.

The adults get well water.

The chicks get bottled water for a week, then 50/50 for a couple days then just well water.

Ooh no I wouldnt do chlorine or rain because of the chem trails. It looks like distilled is your only option. Not the best but I think itll be fine
