. Thanks for your post, though! Advice is always comforting.

Im checking her every 1-2 hours, and cleaning her every time I check. Do you think this is often enough?

Thanks so much! ^_^

Very good then! Sorry I didn't see your post sooner. Cleaning the poo off that often should be just fine! Sounds like you are set! Good luck.

Its quite alright, no need to apologize!

:::UPDATE FOR EVERYONE:::

Now that I am giving fresh regular water, the "ungelating" EE is doing much better. Shes barely unjelating anymore!

Okay, now I dont know if this helps but I came to a situation, and I did what I thought was good for my little Brahma.

I came down to find that she was nearly constantly making the distressed and pained peep/call. So, i decided i had to help somehow.

Using the smallest eyedropper i could find, i very, very, VERY gently began to try to remove poo off of, and around her vent. I got alot of poo from on top of her vent / in it (Her vent was actually OPEN,and it looked VERY painful), and it stimulated her to poop - and more and more of the stuff came out. I would GENTLY put it over her vent, and lots of very nasty stuff came out; Light brown, and very thick poo, that also had some "pee" in it.
.
This eyedropper isnt great, so it didnt cause very much suction power. She never acted as if she was hurting or distressed during my.....er....procedure? Actually, she acted very releived. She even felt less tense!!!! She relaxed, and at one point she started pecking at my hand (exploring, not attacking).

I watched her VERY closely afterwards....her bottom is BARELY 'inflamed' now, her vent doesnt look too iritated, she hasnt made that distressed call/peep, she is much more lively, eating more, drinking more - everything is just better!

So - do you all think I made a wise decision?

I think I would have done the same thing. It sounds like she needed your help. In my opinion, you made a good choice. She is doing better because you helped her.

I think she did too. It was breaking my heart, knowing she was in pain and hearing her practically scream like that. Thanks

Wheatgrass juice is not the same as lawn clippings. It is the chlorophyll in the wheatgrass that is the secret (fighting) ingredient. And grass put in a blender will toast your blender; grass is tough and sinewy and will right off any ordinary juicer. Rather than sopend a lot of time contemplating the possibilities just go to your nearest juice bar or organic healthfood shop (wherever you can jet fresh wheatgrass juice); get an eye dropper and just start dosing your affected birds, you will be surprised at the turn around. For baby chicks you should do a little often; like on the hour, or maybe two hourly if they are bigger. I have a wee chick I have just pulled through and he is doing just fine; the only thing I treated him with is the wheatgrass juice.
