Baby chicks countdown thread!

So, for the Cream Legbars, two pullets and one cockerel? The front bird doesn't seem to have much of a chipmunk pattern or eye spots. How are they doing almost a week later?

Here they all are the little peepers!💕
You can see the 2 yellow Marsh Daisies. Which I'm pretty sure I have a boy and a girl, so Daisy and Marshall. The 2 bandit stripe girls are Olive and Betty (for HRH celebrations next week!) and the 2 boys at the front you can see the size difference with 4 days age difference. The older one is Arthur and we haven't decided with the new boy between Wee Man or Naploeon or something else relating to being a bit smaller lol! I am open to suggestions 😊

here are my cuties.
Blue Star, Cuckoo Maran and Speckled Sussex.
Names to come :) So far the blue star is very loud and screams at me to be held! heheh

first time posting photo and oops they're sideways

oh my word, this blue star is so friendly and precocious! she is biggest and also has figured out how to get out of her box...and just wants to cuddle non stop. my 5 year old niece named her Sugarcube. Anyone else raised a blue star before? she has really distinctive white spot on each side of her mouth

I'm so excited, because I am getting an uneggspected set of chicks!

1. Your expected ship/arrival week
6/14

2. How many weeks are left
2 weeks!

3. Where you ordered from
Mypetchicken

4. What was in your order
2 Buff Brahmas, 2 Dark Brahmas, 1 Light Brahma, 1 Golden Laced Wyandotte, and 1 Silver Laced Wyandottte.

They said they had 90% accuracy, but only 4 of my original 8 , were hens (one of them died within hours of receiving. I didn't know, but they gave me an option to have more chicks reshipped and they cover the costs. So imma have some more babies running around! yay!

Glad a bad deal turned into a good one! Congratulations that will be so fun! Round 2! 😂

Y'all. A bear got into the coop and we lost 8 out of 20 of our 8+ week old chicks. 😭😭😭 of course that nasty creature took our favorite buddies. We still have 7 barred rock and/or cuckoo marans, (its hard to tell the difference) a new Hampshire chicken, a white jersey giant, 2 silver laced wyandottes, and a silver duckwing junglefowl left. We think the red junglefowl may have escaped and is in the woods somewhere, but we can't be sure.

2 of the chicks we lost who we really miss were Cochins. They were just the sweetest. I didnt expect to bond so hard with a chicken, but my barred cochin buddy is especially sorely missed. My 7 year old took it pretty hard so she drew lots of pictures to work through it. 💔

So, we have a new order in with Cackle Hatchery and expect them to arrive on June 25th.

We ordered 3 assortments because we had a lot of fun with that last time. (And because they charge a $20 fee for less than 15, I figured we may as well just get 5 more chicks. This is how it starts, isn't it?) We ordered 5 assorted Cochins, 5 blue egg layers, and 5 assorted Polish. I'm looking forward to an easier brooding period since it will be warmer out.
