oh wow lots of new babies coming! And I would Die waiting till June!!!! Live through everyone elses pictures. Last year I ordered in Feb for April and that wait was so hard!

I am in the count down for order forms to come out from my local feed store! Last year it was the beginning of Feb that they had order forms. I asked and this year they said they are normally out the end of Feb.... so not sure when they will be out but sometime this month. Then I will need to order them and probably do an arrival date for the beginning of April as long as all the breeds I want I can get then.

I’m a teacher, a June order means my son & I are home with them every day as babies. Waiting is hard, but I think it would be harder to leave them 8 hours a day, 5 days a week! I spend half the day next to the brooder when I have babies! 😂

OHHHH That makes sense then! I would do the same thing in that case and just have a really long count down. haahaa. I just got a job outside the home this year so it will be hard being away from my babies but I think I am going to brood in the coop this year anyways. So I will just spend LOTS of time in the coop with them. LOL

Honestly I am not sure where they get them from. It doesn't say in the store or on the order form and I never asked. They don't have all breeds though and think they change a bit each year. REALLY hoping for some cream legbars this year, but not sure they will have them. But to order online and have them shipped the shipping costs are crazy since it is a small order for me. Think when I looked last year shipping was like $50!!!!!

In case you really want a legbar and they don’t have one, Mt Healthy has them, 3 chick minimum no shipping. Their birds are pricier than most other hatcheries but I think it’s because they don’t charge shipping!

Edited: Actually it’s $30 ship 3-9 chicks, and $10 ship for 10-24. Still pretty reasonable.

Thanks. Not sure I want one bad enough to pay the $30. LOL There is another feed store by me that I think had them last year, but I heard people were getting in line at like 6am for an 8am opening just to get certain breeds of chicks!! They don't do pre-orders. If I don't get one I am ok with it but would LOVE a really pretty blue egg! haahaa and they are so cute! The place I go chicks were $4-5 each depending on the breed. So I can get my 6 chicks just for what shipping would be never mind cost of the chicks.
